Viewing Time Reports
Time reports give you a summary of how time has been spent across your team — by person, by sprint, by task type, or across any date range. Use them to understand team capacity utilization, spot over/under-worked team members, and report on time spent to stakeholders.
Opening the time report
- In the left sidebar, click Reports.
- Select Time Report from the report types.
Filtering the report
Use the filter panel at the top to control what data is shown:
| Filter | Options |
|---|---|
| Date range | This week, this month, this sprint, custom range |
| Workspace | All workspaces or a specific one |
| Sprint | All sprints, a specific sprint, or no sprint (backlog items) |
| Assignee | All team members or specific individuals |
| Item type | Tasks, Issues, or both |
| Tags | Filter by item labels |
Click Apply to refresh the report with your selected filters.
Report views
Summary view (default)
Shows a table of total hours logged per team member for the selected period:
| Name | Tasks | Issues | Total hours |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alice | 18h 30m | 6h 00m | 24h 30m |
| Bob | 12h 00m | 0h | 12h 00m |
| Team total | 36h 30m |
Click any row to drill into that person's individual time entries.
Daily breakdown view
Shows hours logged per day, per person — useful for spotting gaps (days with no activity) or heavy days.
Per-task view
Shows which tasks and issues consumed the most time. Useful for identifying unexpectedly long tasks.
To switch views, click the view selector tabs above the report table: Summary | Daily | Per Task.
Understanding the data
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Logged hours | Time explicitly logged via timer or manual entry |
| Estimated hours | Time estimated during planning |
| Variance | Difference between estimated and logged (positive = over estimate, negative = under) |
| Entries | Number of individual time log entries |
Large variances can highlight tasks that took much longer than expected (worth a retrospective discussion) or tasks that were grossly over-estimated (refine your estimation next sprint).
