Using the Kanban Board
The Kanban board gives you a visual, column-based view of all the work in your workspace. Each column is a status, each card is a task or issue. Drag a card from one column to another to update its status.
Overview
Open the board by clicking Kanban in the left sidebar. The header shows the current workspace. Below the header you have a filter row and the board itself.
The board uses the status columns defined in your workspace's Masters. By default you will see:
- TO DO
- IN PROGRESS
- IN REVIEW
- DONE
- CANCELLED
A coloured bar at the top of each column indicates its status colour, and a small count next to each column header shows how many cards are in it overall.
Filtering the board
Above the board is a filter row with three multi-select dropdowns:
- Sprint — pick one or more sprints to include
- Priority — Low, Medium, High, or Critical
- Assignee — one or more workspace members
On the right of the row you have two more controls:
- Issues toggle — when turned on, bug/issue cards are loaded and appear alongside tasks. Issue cards have a red left border and a small bug icon, so they are easy to spot.
- Swimlane dropdown — group cards into horizontal swimlanes by Sprint, Epic, Assignee, or Priority. Choose "No Swimlanes" for a single flat board.
Each swimlane is collapsible — click its header to fold or expand it. Sprint swimlanes also display their date range on the right.
Reading cards
A card shows:
- The item ID (for example TASK-ABC123 or ISS-XYZ789)
- A priority icon (star for Critical, triangle for High, dash for Medium/Low)
- The title
- An epic tag in a coloured pill, if the item is linked to an epic
- The assignee's initials in an avatar badge
Cards in the Done or Cancelled column show muted, struck-through text.
Moving cards
Only admins can drag cards. To move an item:
- Click and hold a card.
- Drag it over the target column — the column highlights.
- Release to drop.
The status saves immediately. If the update fails, the card snaps back to its original column.
Tips
- Turn on the Issues toggle only when you need to see bugs — the board loads them on demand to stay fast.
- Combine a Sprint filter with a Priority filter to focus on just the critical work for the current iteration.
- Use the Epic swimlane to see how work is distributed across larger themes.
