Dashboard Overview

The dashboard is your home base in Varai Sprints. It gives you a live, one-screen summary of everything happening in the workspace you are currently viewing — open work, sprint progress, who is active right now, and what is due soon. It is the first page you land on after signing in.

Opening the dashboard

  1. Click Dashboard in the left sidebar, or click the Varai Sprints logo.
  2. Make sure the correct workspace is selected in the workspace switcher at the top. The dashboard always reflects the active workspace.

If you have not selected a workspace yet, the dashboard prompts you to pick one.

What you see on the dashboard

The dashboard is organised into rows, each showing a different aspect of your work:

  • Greeting and date range picker — at the top, with options for Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, and Last 90 days. The chosen range drives the time-logged figures shown below.
  • Quick Actions bar — buttons for New Task, New Sprint, New Release, plus shortcuts to Kanban, Gantt, and Reports.
  • Metric cards — six tiles showing Active Sprints, Open Tasks (with a completion percentage), Open Issues, Upcoming Releases, Team Members, and total Time Logged.
  • Overdue alert — a red banner appears only when you have tasks or issues whose planned end date has already passed.
  • Task Distribution — stacked bars showing how your tasks break down by status and by priority, plus a mini summary of To Do, In Progress, In Review, and Done counts.
  • Sprint Progress — a card listing every active sprint with a progress bar, item counts, and days remaining.
  • Live Activity — shows teammates whose timers are currently running, followed by a team roster with each person's task count and hours logged.
  • Upcoming Deadlines — the next six items due in the coming seven days, plus a mini release timeline.
  • Recent Tasks — the eight most recently created tasks, and a Workspace Summary card with totals and completion rate.

Filtering the view

Click the Filters button in the top-right to narrow the dashboard by:

  • Sprint — show only metrics for one sprint
  • Member — show only work assigned to a specific person
  • Status — show only tasks in a given status

A small counter on the Filters button indicates how many filters are active. Click Clear all inside the filter panel to reset everything.

Live updates and refresh

The dashboard refreshes in two ways:

  • Full refresh every 60 seconds, keeping all metrics in sync.
  • Active timers refresh every 15 seconds so the "Live Activity" card stays accurate.

To force an immediate refresh, click the circular arrow button next to the Filters button. The "Last updated" time next to the greeting confirms when data was last pulled.

Tips

  • Click any metric card to jump to the corresponding full list page (tasks, sprints, issues, releases, team).
  • Click a sprint in the Sprint Progress card to open the sprint detail page.
  • The overdue alert is your highest-priority signal — clear those items first.
  • If the dashboard feels empty, use the Quick Actions bar to create your first sprint or task.
