Adding Files and Links to Tasks
Attachments let you add context to a task by uploading files (documents, screenshots, designs) or linking to external resources (Figma designs, Google Docs, external tickets). Everything stays in one place — no more hunting through Slack or email.
Uploading a file
- Open the task.
- Scroll to the Attachments section.
- Click Upload File (or drag and drop a file directly onto the attachments area).
- Select the file from your computer.
- The file uploads and appears in the attachments list.
Supported file types and size limits
| Type | Examples | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Images | PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP | 25 MB per file |
| Documents | PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX | 25 MB per file |
| Archives | ZIP, TAR | 25 MB per file |
| Other | Any file type | 25 MB per file |
File storage limits may vary based on your organization's plan. If you hit a storage limit, contact your workspace admin.
Viewing and downloading attachments
All attachments appear in a list below the task description. For each attachment you can see:
- File name
- File size
- Who uploaded it and when
To view a file, click its name. Image files open in a preview. Other files download to your computer.
To download a file explicitly, click the download icon next to the file name.
Deleting an attachment
- In the Attachments section, hover over the file you want to remove.
- Click the Delete icon (trash bin).
- Confirm the deletion.
Deleting an attachment permanently removes the file. This cannot be undone. Make sure you have another copy if you need the file later.
Only the person who uploaded the file, or a workspace Admin, can delete attachments.
Adding a link
You can also attach a URL to a task — useful for linking to external resources like Figma designs, Notion pages, GitHub PRs, or Google Docs.
- Open the task.
- In the Attachments section, click Add Link.
- Paste the URL.
- Optionally add a display name so the link has a friendly label (e.g., "Figma design — Login screen").
- Click Save Link.
The link appears in the attachments list alongside any uploaded files.
Attaching files via drag and drop
You can drag files from your desktop or file explorer directly onto any open task detail page. The task automatically scrolls to the attachments section and the upload begins.
Viewing attachments in context
Attachments are also visible in these places:
- Task detail panel — full attachments section with upload and link controls
- Quick view drawer — shows attachment thumbnails for image files
- Activity feed — shows when attachments were added or removed
Attachments on issues
Issues (bugs from the bug tracker) also support attachments in the same way. See Issue details for more.
